Compatibility may vary, but generally runs on Microsoft Windows systems. Garmin MapSource has been tested for viruses, please refer to the tests on the 'Virus Tests' page. It is published by Garmin.

It also says: Where is the Manual? Currently, the manual references on Garmin's website point to the MS manual, which will not help you with BC. There is a help file in BC, but as with most help files, it is more a reference on how to operate the program, not how to use the program. As significant progress is expected from Garmin with BC development for the On the Road applications, a manual may be a moving target today. If someone knows something better on line, please post a link!

Well, this may not be the best thread for such stupid questions, but I guess I gotta ask them somewhere, so here goes: 1. Would anyone be able to walk me through the procedure to re-name a file in Windows 7? I can't find a way to view the file and its file extension.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND! We run this software generally on 32bit XP systems that have everything but GFX, Network, and Printing disabled. This is a HEAVY RIP Studio, it takes a ton of processing power, and system resources, even being half a decade or more old. I've even built XP embedded systems to speed its run up, AND THATS WITHOUT HASP EMULATION. DO NOT EXPECT TO RUN A LFC Printshop with this software on your everyday laptop. Because of their usefulness and ubiquity, EXE files are commonly used as a method of delivery for virus / malware infection. Often, viruses will be disguised as a benign EXE file (such as MapSource.exe) and distributed through SPAM email or malicious websites, which can then infect your computer when executed (eg. When you double-click the EXE file). In addition, viruses can infect, replace, or corrupt existing EXE files, which can then lead to error messages when MapSource or related programs are executed.

Any map without DEM data will not show up in basecamp but will work just fine with mapsource.

Click to expand.Since I just ran across this, was wondering how to get the last version (installed on the machine) of the city Maps (V2014.?) unlocked? It works in basecamp, but I dont.at least willingly. I have an older Garmin 376C that I can no longer do routes on without. Garmin Support told me to connect the 376 then go to the unlock page on the computer- didnt work.

Changes made from version 6.15.7 to 6.15.11: * Improved performance for custom draw elements. * Made sure waypoints of type 'Geotagged Photo' don't crash MapSource.

• Virus or malware infection that has corrupted the MapSource.exe file or related MapSource program files. • Another program maliciously or mistakenly deleted MapSource.exe-related files. • Another program is in conflict with MapSource and its shared referenced files.

When I installed Windows 7 i expected a few of my programs to not work. When I finished moving all the programs over using PC mover, some programs I had to do a 'repair' install and they worked just fine. Map Source was a different different story.

It only crashes once every 15 minutes, and up to now hasn't crashed when I was sending a mapset. Also, unless you have locked maps, you can probably create gmapsupp.IMGs with Sendmap2.0. Which is fine if all the maps your sending are visible in basecamp. I'm using Basecamp in Win7.

Everything I've installed shows up both places, like both programs were reading the same registry settings. If you aren't up for VMware. Try Basecamp.
